Apartments in London

Can anyone recommend a service for short term vacation rentals in London? My husband and I will be there for 2 weeks and would like to rent a "budget" type apartment. There seem to be lots of services that rent apartments but I don't know how to find a reliable one!!

There are MANy threads on here about flats in London. Now granted, the search function doesn't work very well - but you should be able to find some of them.

In February 2005 my family rented a wonderful house in Sloane Square from www.londonconnection.com The house was lovely, in a great location and very reasonably priced. It had three bedrooms and two bathrooms and cost us $250 per night.

Check out Nell Gwynne apts on Sloane Ave. in Chelsea - very convenient to tube stations, grocery, wine shop etc. They have a website. I stayed there in 2000 for 2 weeks and I thought the price was very good (budget type but not tacky). There is also concierge service in the lobby which is very helpful. If you'd like my opinion on this place more in depth, please e-mail me at [email protected]

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T USE YOURSTAY. They are dishonest, disreputable using bait and switch tactics IF you're lucky. This info is all over the web. They also trade under the name urbanstay.

We have just booked an apartment for 2 weeks on London with www.deepblue-apartments.com
The email contact has been prompt and efficient and we only have to pay 50 pounds deposit and the rest when we arrive. Lots of places wanted the total amount before we arrive which I wasn't happy about.

Another place which looks nice is
www.vancouverstudios.co.uk

SPedersen, a second opinion against YOURSTAY.COM!

Stay far, far away from them...

Just do a search on this very website and you'll learn more.

Good luck flat hunting and enjoy London. It's an incredible city with absolutely wonderful people. : )

spedersen: Just read all the negative feedback about yourstay. Sorry,it seems I made a poor recommendation. We(a family of 6) used them to book our 6 day stay in london 2 years ago. The apartment was just as described, the airport transfer they arranged was perfect. We found them to be very reliable, maybe we were lucky!
Have a great trip, you'll love london
