Small hotels/B&Bs in Venice, Naples & Amalfi coast

Boyfriend and I have each been to Italy several times before. This will, however, be our frist trip there together. We'll be flying into Venice and out of Naples.

Wanted charming, well-located accomodations with possibly a touch of romance at under about 150E per night, and I think I did pretty well. Tons of research includes finding (good) reviews on both Tripadisor and Venere. But I didn't turn up much here about most of these. Any further feedback re any of the following?

Venice: Ca dei Dogi - www.cadeidogi.it

Naples: B&B Bellini - www.bbbellini.it
http://tinyurl.com/p6nms

Capri: La Minerva - www.laminervacapri.com
(we are splurging here and spending 195E for a superior room w/views)

Ravello area: Punta Civita - www.puntacivita.it
http://www.italyby.com/puntacivita/pages/profile.htm

Amalfi: Residenza del Duca - www.residencedelduca.it
http://www.italyby.com/residenzadeld...es/profile.htm

Naples (last night before departure): Chiaia Hotel de Charme - www.hotelchiaia.it
http://www.italyby.com/chiaja/pages/profile.htm

We realize it is a long train trip from Venice to Naples. Any thoughts re cheap flights instead?

If you haven't left for your trip yet, my husband and I have just booked a reservation at Ca' Dei Dogi after finding some updated info through 'another' travel site. It looks wonderful and close to Piazza San Marco where we had originally booked a room in a hotel for more than double the price without breakfast! We're going for it. The write up said the people were "attentive and congenial." We've never been to Venice, but the location and special prices available through April 30th are enticing ($120 Euro for a double breakfast, tax, service included)

I've been to Venice several times now, and am going back again? Highly recommend to anyone going to spend at least 2 nights so you can really get a flavor and get pleasantly lost. Looks like you're going in the off season, so you should find some pretty good deals for Venice. Hotel Kette is a 4 star and I think there rates are close to what you're looking for during April. Great hotel. Close to everything, yet quiet. Hotel Flora is also very charming....

We stayed at La Minerva on Capri last September and had a wonderful time. See my trip report (scroll down toward the end of the long report):

Thanks for the replies!

PatSox - 120E/night is a very good rate for the Ca dei Dogi. Do you know which room you're in? We are paying 140E for the double w/"french bed." We sleep in a double at home (neither of us is very large), so I'm sure it'll be adequate, but on the small side. Decor looks great, and there is that roof terrace for a glass of wine....

KC - Appreciate the link to your trip report. La Minerva is the only place on my list for which I'd been able to find lots of feedback here, but it's great to have more confirmation that it's a good choice. (As well as an idea of how long some of the walks are....)
