Miami's Carnival Center: A World-Class Arts Venue

August 23, 2007

Miami's cultural life just got a little richer with the addition of the new Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. Unveiled in late 2006, the stunningly designed arts center in downtown Miami encompasses a 2,400-seat opera house, a 2,200-seat concert hall, and a 200-seat studio theater. Performances include everything from world music, comedy, symphonies, grand opera, ballet, and Broadway, among other things. Recent guest artists have included opera star Juan Diego Florez, chanteuse Patti Lupone, keyboard sensation Omar Sosa, and the legendary Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
