Monument to the Negev Brigade

Monument to the Negev Brigade Review

On Route 40 northeast from Beersheva to Arad is the large and impressive Monument to the Negev Brigade, designed by Israeli artist Danny Karavan and built during the 1960s. The monument's 18 symbolic parts and Hebrew text tell the story of the Palmach's Negev Brigade, which halted the Egyptian attack during the War of Independence after the birth of the State of Israel in 1948. Framed by two acacia trees, the tower offers a great view of Beersheva and the surrounding desert.
