Fodor's Review:

In this 18-floor hotel all rooms have Mediterranean views from their balconies. Public areas are decorated in earth tones and rooms have Mediterranean color schemes. The outdoor saltwater pool overlooks the beach.

Nice hotel, great location, outstanding breakfast

The Sheraton Moriah provides all the amenities of a modern hotel. The rooms were clean, and the bed extremely comfortable. As claimed, all windows look out onto the beach, but that’s a little misleading: As with other high rise hotels on the beach, the beach is to the west, but all the rooms look out to the north and south. So if you step onto your balcony and turn, you’ll see the beach, but looking through the window you see the next hotel. The staff was quite helpful. We arrived 5 hrs before check-in time and without asking they found us a room. We had ordered cell phones from a third party, and there was a mix-up in finding them. So the staff made a number of calls for us to find the phones (letting us be in our room in the meantime), and then compensated us for our inconvenience with free coffees and cakes at the lounge. I thought this was handling the situation very well. Also on a daily basis they did little favors like giving change for larger Shekel notes. We had a low Internet rate for a basic room, and the breakfast was included. It was incredible. A large variety of raw and cooked vegetables, cheeses, pastries, a table of nuts and dried fruits. And to top things off, they provided additional variety by varying the offerings slightly from day to day. The upside down pudding cake is something to die for. And you don’t have to worry about getting up early to partake—they kept the offerings refreshed throughout the breakfast hours. We later stayed at a luxury hotel in Jerusalem that gets rave reviews for its breakfast, and if anything the Sheraton Moriah’s breakfast was better. The breakfast room and lounge look out onto beautiful views of the beach and marina. The beach outside the hotel has heavenly soft sand. The only negative was that in spite of extremely warm November weather, the pool had already been drained and closed for the season. In spite of all the positives, don’t expect a 4 or 5 star hotel. The hotel rooms, halls, and front desk, although clean, had a dingy look that begged for renovation.
