By Air in Tel Aviv

By Air

All international flights land at Ben Gurion International Airport, which is 16 km (10 mi) southeast of Tel Aviv, except charter flights to Eilat. The airport is modern and efficient and is served by most major American and European carriers, with frequent and convenient connections to major cities around the world.

From Sde Dov Airport, about 4 km (2 1/2 mi) north of the city center, the domestic airline Arkia flies to Eilat (some 10 flights per day), Haifa (3 flights).

The train to Ben Gurion International from central Tel Aviv is a convenient way to go. When departing for the airport from central Tel Aviv by car or taxi at rush hour (7-9 AM, 5-7 PM), the roads can get clogged so allow 45 minutes for a trip that would otherwise take only about 20 minutes.
