Tzfat

Getting Here and Around

If you're driving to Tzfat from Jerusalem, take Route 6 north. If you're starting in Tel Aviv, head north on Route 2. Either way, you'll want to turn east on Route 65, then north on Route 90, then west on Route 89 to Tzfat. If your journey starts in Haifa, head north on Route 4, then east on Route 89 to Tzfat. Egged runs at least one bus daily to Tzfat from Tel Aviv, at least seven from Jerusalem, and at least 35 from Haifa.

In Tzfat the private company Nativ Express runs eight local bus lines. The Hamavreek taxi company in Tzfat will pick up incoming travelers at the Mahanayim Airport and take them to various destinations in the region. Buses from Tzfat central bus station, at the entrance to the city, head to most towns in the region.

Both of Israel's major bus companies, Egged Tours and United Tours, offer one- and two-day guided tours of the region, departing from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Within the Old City, the many streets closed to traffic make it difficult to drive from one place to another. You may have to drive around the perimeter of the city rather than through it. The best way to get around is on foot.
