Strategically placed to overlook the city, Les Mérinides is popular with those seeking a resort-style hotel with modern amenities. The views of Fez el-Bali from the pool—nicely raised above the fray—are the best in town. The rooms feel dated with faded golden tones and reddish-brown furnishings. The third-floor restaurant serves elegant international and Moroccan cuisine overlooking the Fassi skyline. The only drawback is dependence on transportation, as it's a few minutes' drive above the medina.
