When the government built a dam and reservoir in the area at the end of 2008, the "old" Chez Momo was in the way and is now 50 feet under water. The owner's friends raised funds to buy him a new piece of land. The result is the Chez Momo of today, nestling higher than its predecessor in the foothills of the mountains, near Ouirgane. Sip a cocktail by the small pool or have a barbequed dinner seated on one of the chairs fashioned from tree trunks. It is well worth sampling their signature dish, lamb Tagine Zahra accompanied by homemade bread and oranges with cinnamon. After such a feast you may find yourself inquiring about one of the six cozy rooms (priced around 1,100 DH), to which a breakfast of morning coffee and beghrir (pancakes) is brought to your door.
