  Vaughan Johnson's Wine & Cigar Shop Review

  Rude and Overly Pretentious!
  
  My boyfriend and I decided to visit this shop to enquire about a wine we had the previous night with dinner and enjoyed. We know nothing about South African wine but live in San Francisco near some of the best wine regions in the world so can recognize a good tasting wine from a bad one. Needless to say we were enjoying a lovely afternoon in Cape Town before visiting this establishment. After asking about the wine we had with dinner the owner smugly and loudly pointed out, so that everyone could hear, that the wine was mass produced and could be bought at any grocer. It seemed as if he was actually trying to make us look like fools. My boyfriend promptly exited the shop and I was so stunned by this man's behavior that I just stood there shocked while the owner, having noticed my boyfriends departure, then made a remark that my boyfriend was "too sensitive and that he better shake that". Excuse me? What kind of a person belittles patrons and then attacks their character? This man could have very easily recommended a similar wine and made some money but instead decided to display very poor manners. We promptly went to the grocer and purchased a couple bottles of that mass produced yet delicious wine.
  
  If you are looking for a wine shop that is welcoming, friendly, and willing to work with people who may not be wine aficionados than look elsewhere because Vaughan Johnson is exactly the opposite!
