Beverly Hills Hotel Review

In a high-rise building right on the beach, this upscale hotel is popular with both vacationers and businesspeople and has a longstanding reputation as one of the best in town. The service is excellent (although occasionally unreliable in the restaurants) and the facilities superb. However, if you're the sort of beachgoer who likes to loll about in a bathing suit, you may find this hotel too formal. The public lounge, festooned with huge floral arrangements and yards of gathered drapes, serves a full silver-service tea in the afternoon, and a pianist plays in the evening. Guest rooms are fairly small, but all have terrific sea views, particularly those on the upper floors. For a more open, beachlike feel, take one of the cabanas—large rooms that open onto a lovely pool deck.
