Sun Yat-sen Park (Zhongshan Gongyuan)

Sun Yat-sen Park (Zhongshan Gongyuan) Review

The largest of the city's parks, Sun Yat-sen Park, is inland from Huiquan Bay and has a number of attractions, including a small zoo, a botantical garden, and the Zhanshan Buddhist Temple. Qingdao's TV tower, a city landmark, offers visitors striking views from its observation deck. Originally planted by the Japanese in 1915 while under their occupation, the park contains some 20,000 cherry trees (which blossom annually only for a two-week period), and holds the annual Cherry Blossom Festival at the end of May.
