Din Tai Fung Review
The newest branch of this chain with outlets stretching from L.A. to Jakarta is located next to the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, facing the giant Olympic rings with great sea views. Inside the posh Marina City Mall, Din Tai Fung offers the freshest and arguably the best steamed pork dumplings (xiao long bao) in the city. Each dumpling is stuffed with delicate fillings, and lovingly "pleated" precisely 18 times. There is an English picture menu with a lot of vegetarian-friendly selections. Recommended are the vegetable dumplings (jiaozi) and the cold Shaoxing sesame and chili chicken. Cleanliness and efficiency make up for the uninspired modern decor.
