Legendale (Lìjùn ji?diàn) Review

Those fond of a classic European ambience will be drawn to the old-world spectacle that is the Legendale, a gigantic "château" from the outside, while inside a breathtaking gilded staircase winds upward to the towering atrium—a veritable "theater" with gilt balconies and a domelike atrium—with plenty of sparkling chandeliers and an antique Parisian fireplace at the center of it all. Looming over some of the city's best-preserved hutongs, the hotel sets a Western note, thanks to its European-inspired, palatial interiors. Guest rooms are enormous, with acreage devoted to boiserie panels, Oriental carpets, and brocaded fabrics (all in rich blues, golds, and burgundies). Guests are also spoiled for choice when it comes to dining, as Camoes offers Macanese and Portuguese cuisine; Petrus, a French restaurant, has a large wine collection; while Macao focuses on Chinese fare.
