Hotel G (Beijing Jízhàn) Review

Vibrant, stylish, and next to the Gongti nightclub strip, this trendy boutique hotel has a multi-colored facade that masks a slick interior, where Mid-Century modern design uses subtle Chinese accents to add an understated glamor. The result is a place with a real sense of identity, not the usual hotel sterility. True, the plush, dimly lit rooms are a tad eccentric, but not overly so, while the facilities are roundly excellent. The free Wi-Fi is a rare luxury in the city's top hotels; the gym is well-equipped; Morio serves up decent Japanese food; and Scarlett doubles as a fine wine bar and European-inspired restaurant (its fromagerie is outstanding).
