Opia

Fodor's Review:

The Philippe Starck-designed Jia Hotel is one of Hong Kong's hottest, hippest spots, whether to eat, drink, or stay. Opia is its restaurant. Sip a smooth cocktail in the bar-lounge before being seated for dinner at one of the minimalist tables, and keep in mind that the place doesn't really get going until 9 PM or so. The culinary theme is Australian, but that won't help you predict what's on the menu: it might be better dubbed Euro-Japanese-Thai, with dishes like yellowfin tuna sashimi with bonito panna cotta and Wagyu red beef curry with pumpkin. DJs spin on Wednesday and weekends.

  • Keep in mind: Reservations essential.
  • Credit Cards: AE, MC, V
  • Metro: Causeway Bay
