Vienna Café Review

Coffee, cakes, and excellent breakfasts, Vienna is a Shanghai institution, for those in the know. This is not a trendy café, nor is it trying to be anything other than an Austrian coffeehouse. With a wood-paneled main room and a tiny solarium, this is perfect setting for a Sunday breakfast. Try an Einspanner with the Sachertorte, and never mind the effects on your waistline.

    Vienna Café Review

We went in search of the "excellent breakfasts" but it being in the PM - a dim idea. The cakes we tried - impossible to decipher what they were, since they were new/special/off the menu - one was reasonable (banana soufflé?) and, the other, had a rather head-scratching flavor combination of rich/nutty and tart (fortunately liked by my companion). The clientèle of the day were: couples, business people, and the obligatory solo ex-pat male glancing up at every girl passing by.
