Stone Treasure Stronghold (Shibaozhai)
Stone Treasure Stronghold (Shibaozhai) Review
Stone Treasure Stronghold is actually a rectangular rock with sheer cliffs, into which is built an impressive 12-story pagoda, constructed by Emperor Qianlong (1736-96) during the Qing Dynasty. Wall carvings and historical inscriptions describing the construction of the building can be seen along the circuitous stairway that leads from the center of the pagoda to the top. The pagoda was damaged by the earthquake, but has been renovated since.
