Kumarakom Lake Resort Review

In the heritage section of this beautiful 25-acre lakefront property, palatial traditional villas, reassembled from old houses, are set around a network of canals. Each villa is outfitted with ornately carved wooden ceilings, colorful mural paintings and enormous garden bathrooms. The meandering pool villas are a modern take on the backwater lifestyle; you can step from your room directly into the curving, amoeba-like swimming pool. You can also relax by a separate lakefront infinity pool, designed so the far edge seems to merge with the body of water on the horizon, or in the spacious ayurvedic center.

    understated luxury

    This was a hotel I was longing to visit after many recommendations from other travellers. I had my own villa with a divine king bed, table with chairs, dressing table & lots of windows! also, a wonderful outdoor bathroom with a laundry line which was very useful! they didn't miss a trick as even the tv was not only flatscreen with all the channels but also in HD!! The 2 restaurants are both excellent & they let you know what is dairy free or wheat free & very conscious of food allergies & the local cuisine is just sensational in every way!! fortunately they have a small fitness centre on site to try to work off some calories! they also have the swimming pool that winds around the villas which is extraordinary & great fun! the infinity pool is also lovely. It is a great place to relax or recover from a hectic lifestyle & the spa is very nice as well.
