Vivanta by Taj-Hari Mahal Review

Outside the Old City, this hotel offers a respite from the hustle and bustle and what it lacks in excitement, it makes up in hospitality and subdued charm—and children will enjoy the nightly puppet show. The modern rooms are tasteful and spacious but ordinary, though some overlook the pool and have a small balcony. The Chinese restaurant opens only for dinner, but a good multicuisine restaurant is open all day. For special occasions, ask for a demonstration of the elaborate chess dance, during which women in Rajasthani dress swirl across a giant chessboard.
