Ice Breaker Sailing from Aurora Terminal

Ice Breaker Sailing from Aurora Terminal Review

If you really want to break the ice in future conversations, try some bird- and seal-watching (weather permitting) from late January to April, or a trip to Shiretoko National Park in the summer months. The icebreakers Aurora 1 and 2 sail from Aurora Terminal at the east end of the port, letting you inspect winter ryuhyo at close range for ¥3,000. In summer, the same company takes you around Shiretoko from Utoro Port 80 km (50 mi) away. Travel agencies in Tokyo and Sapporo and JR Hokkaido offer ice-floe/hot-spring package tours that always include this boat trip.
