National Museum of Modern Art (Kindai Bijutsukan)

National Museum of Modern Art (Kindai Bijutsukan) Review

This small but excellent museum is known for its collection of 20th-century Japanese paintings, emphasizing the artistic movements in the Kansai region. You'll also see ceramic treasures by Kanjiro Kawai, Rosanjin Kitaoji, Shoji Hamada, and others. There are frequent exhibitions of contemporary artists. The museum is on the road to Heian Jingu. Take Bus 5 or 100 to Kyoto Kaikan Bijustsukan-mae.
