Absorb panoramic views at this former colonial home in the Singapore Botanical Gardens. An outdoor patio terrace and a small eating area make Au Jardin ideal for intimate occasions. The extensive à la carte menu takes a backseat to the prix-fixe options. There's the three-course table d'hôte and the awe-inspiring seven-course dégustation menu, which includes scallops with pistachio and coriander, Wagyu beef (a Japanese delicacy), and chocolate soufflé with earl grey ice cream. The black-tie waiters provide impeccable service, and there's brunch service on Sunday.

Like most high end French restauranst in Singapore, it is overrated and overpriced. Rich Gourmet wannabes who have never tasted really excellent French food in France always rave about places like this. Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling Gourmet
