Koh Samet

Koh Samet's beautiful beaches are popular with Thais and Bangkok expats, especially on weekends. Many people thought that the development of Koh Chang, a couple of hours east, would pull business away from Koh Samet, but that has yet to happen. People are not giving up on Samet just yet, and it remains popular, mostly with people looking for a bit of peace and quiet and clean air. It's for the laid-back traveler who just wants to sunbathe and read on the beach.
