Even if you're not staying in the new Sheraton resort, it's worth the five-minute trip from town to have a drink at its bar, Latitude. Here you'll get a great view of the sunset over the Gulf of Thailand—through plate-glass windows or, better yet, alfresco—while sipping wines or well-crafted cocktails, perhaps accompanied by tapas. There's a small library adjacent to the wine bar as well.
