Six Senses Hideaway Samui Review

From the moment you're greeted by the management and introduced to your private butler, you'll realize that this is not just another high-end resort—you're about to embark on an amazing experience. Your butler will escort you via electric car to your private villa. The rooms have plush bedding, tubs arranged near flawless ocean views, separate outdoor showers, and a variety of lighting options. Don't forget to lounge at the 30-meter infinity pool on the cliff. Dining on the Hill serves an exquisite and comprehensive breakfast buffet, and Dining on the Rocks ($$$) has a romantic private terrace perfect for indulging in innovative and exotic cuisine. The resort even employs its own consultants to make sure it is environmentally friendly.

    Six Senses Hideaway Samui Review

    Ok, so we ended a 2 week honeymoon throughout Thailand with 4 nights at the Six Senses Koh Samui. We had a pool suite. I think that overall the resort is amazing, but there are some flaws. My biggest issue is with the bathroom. Beware...it is designed to be "open air", which basically means no AC. This is an issue because it was about 95 degrees in Koh Samui when we were there. While I dont' have a problem showering outdoors, trying to get ready inside a sweltering bathroom is really difficult. Our villa had 2 bathrooms...why can't one of them be air conditioned for those of us who prefer? That would have been perfect!

    The Villa itself was fabulous...great pool, view and design. Only problem was with housekeeping, who neglected to upkeep our outside deck area daily.

    The buggy system works relatively well. Compared to the 2 other resorts we stayed at though, they were slow to pick you up. The area is very spread out so you do need to rely on this transportation.

    At times we felt ignored at the resort. Upon checking in, we felt we didn't get the greeting that was offered us in the other hotels. It was our honeymoon, but no mention was made. I suppose if I didn't have any other places to compare this resort to, it would be okay. But the fuss that we got at those places spoiled us I guess. They just didn't really welcome you like I would have expected.

    Our butler was helpful, but then she got sick and we had a replacement. I didn't even know that persons name, so would not have even known how to contact them if I needed something. Do not book based on the "butler" service, it's no different than calling a front desk for help.

    The food was really great at Dining on the Hill....as well as room service, very fast, very good.

    All in all, a very nice place to stay. Just take into consideration the little details mentioned. If environmental concern is of importance to you, then this place should earn some points.
