Sixty kilometers (37 miles) off the west coast of Phang Nga, the five Surin Islands are special for their diving and fishing. The national park status has stopped all development here and this is a strong draw for tourists to come and see an unspoiled part of Thailand. There is a community of "sea gypsies" living here, who have become a slight tourist attraction in themselves.
