InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort Review

In early summer 2012 the luxury international InterContinental brand launched this 197-room resort set on a private bay on the Son Tra Peninsula, surrounded by a jungle landscape and views of the East Vietnam Sea. In addition to a central location—just 30 minutes from the Danang airport and a few miles from some of the region's most exciting UNESCO cultural sites—the highly anticipated (and six years in the making) property teems with amenities, including complimentary water sports and Wi-Fi, a Planet Trekkers kids club, a sparkling beach, and a host of pools. Three-Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux presents sophisticated French cuisine at the La Maison 1888 restaurant, while another showcases traditional Vietnamese flavors. The lively bar has a dramatic hillside setting. Accommodations range from oversized standard rooms to suites and villas with terraces and private pool, but all feature a vibrant-yet-sophisticated decor, locally inspired architectural touches, and modern comforts like iPod docking stations and walk-in rain showers. A spa is set to open in late 2012.
