This pleasant, tree-lined street in District 1 contains an interesting collection of French colonial buildings, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, Caravelle Hotel, central post office, and old Saigon Opera House (now the Municipal Theatre). It's an area that in recent years has reestablished itself as the city's commercial center. Sightseeing aside, there's plenty of shopping, eating, and drinking along Dong Khoi Street, but it tends to be more costly here than elsewhere in the city.
