Alice Springs and Ayers Rock Restaurants

Read our Alice Springs and Ayers Rock restaurant reviews. Or post your own.

Restaurants Overview

Restaurants in Alice Springs and at Ayers Rock Resort cater primarily to tourists, and accordingly specialize in native Australian meats, such as crocodile, kangaroo, and camel. Meals are often served with local fruits, berries, and plants. Definitely try this "bush tucker," perhaps within the pioneer setting of a saloon or steak house.

For a small, desert city, Alice Springs offers a surprisingly diverse array of dining choices, with an emphasis on fish flown down from Darwin and ethnic cuisine, especially Asian fare. The various hotels that make up Ayers Rock Resort each have their own restaurant; the property also has barbecue areas where you can cook your own meals. If you can afford it, be sure to book a seat for the quintessential, though pricey, Ayers Rock dining experience, the unforgettable Sounds of Silence dinner in the desert under the stars. At Kings Canyon you can take the similar, couples-only Sounds of Starlight dining tour.
