Airlines

Brisbane is Queensland's major travel crossing point. Many international airlines have head offices in the city center as well as information booths at the airport. Qantas and Virgin Blue Airlines fly to all Australian capital cities and most cities within Queensland. Jetstar links Brisbane with Cairns, Hamilton Island, Mackay, Proserpine, and Rockhampton, as well as the Gold and Sunshine coasts.

Many international carriers fly to and from Brisbane. Air Nauru, Air Vanuatu, and Solomon Airlines link Brisbane with islands in the South Pacific. Air New Zealand, Air Pacific, Cathay Pacific, EVA Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Malaysian Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airways fly between Brisbane and points throughout Asia, with connections to Europe and the U.S. West Coast.

Airport &Transfers

Brisbane International Airport is 9 km (5 1/2 mi) from the city center. Coachtrans provides a daily bus service to and from Roma Street Station and Brisbane city and Gold Coast hotels every 30 minutes between 5 AM and 9 PM. From the airport, the first shuttle goes at 6 AM and the last at midnight. The one-way fare is A$9-A$11 per person; the round-trip fare is A$15-A$18.

Airtrain has train services to Central Station and other stations throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The one-way fare is A$12 per person, or A$22 round-trip. Trains depart up to four times an hour and it takes 20 minutes to reach the city center.

Taxis to downtown Brisbane cost A$40 to A$50, depending on time of day.
