Whitsunday Moorings B&B Review

Overlooking Abel Point Marina, both self-contained suites here have panoramic views from their patios. The house is surrounded by mango and frangipani trees filled with frolicking lorikeets. Although host Peter Brooks is extraordinarily helpful with regard to local activities, his poolside hammock can sidetrack even energetic guests. Meticulously clean, spacious open-plan rooms include kitchen and lounge areas and have terra-cotta-tiled floors, cedar blinds, and ceiling fans. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Airlie's pretty harbor is a five-star affair with white linen, heavy silverware, beautifully presented tropical fruits and flowers, "entrees of the day," eggs, bacon, bush tomatoes, homemade jams, freshly squeezed juice, and French press coffee.

Don't just stay one or two nights . . .

First time I stayed I was during the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Then we were also booked for an island resort. Now we know better and just stay here the whole time we're in Queensland!
This is a fabulous, relaxing spot with the most amazing views of the Coral Sea and the Whitsunday Islands. Just 300 meters from downtown, it's close enough to walk everywhere; yet, far enough from the booming nightlife that Airlie is famous for.
Breakfast is delicious and very filling - so fresh and nutritious - don't expect to be hungry for lunch. Sleeping is bliss in crisp linens in cozy, well-appointed rooms.
If you're not going out on an excursion for the day, hang out at the B&B. . . The pool is fantastic!!! Buy some wine or beer and just make yourself at home on your own private terrace.
This B&B and the hosts are our favorite in all of Queensland, and we'll keep coming back for more.
