Shute Harbour
Shute Harbour Review
Shute Harbour, 10 km (6 mi) southeast from Airlie Beach, is the main ferry terminal and gateway to the islands and reef. The large, sheltered inlet bristles with boats—it's the second-busiest commuter port in Australia, after Sydney's Circular Quay. Though accommodation is available, the harbor is geared toward transferring visitors. For a great view over Shute Harbor and the Whitsunday Passage, drive to the top of Coral Point.
