Birdworld Kuranda

Birdworld Kuranda Review

One of your best chances to see the endangered cassowary, a prehistoric emu-like bird, is at Birdworld Kuranda. It's also home to around 500 or so birds from 75 species, more than 25 of them native to vanishing rain-forest areas—all flying freely in a giant aviary, and many of them tame enough to perch on your shoulders. Wear a hat and sleeved shirt: birds' claws are scratchy.
