Formerly a wool-storage facility, this four-story hotel provides good value for its location, although its historic character is confined to the exterior of the 150-year-old building. Tidy rooms are modestly furnished in the style of British hotels from the 1980s, with a color scheme in red and cream and overstuffed armchairs and settees. Top-floor rooms on the east side afford glimpses of Circular Quay and the Opera House, while the penthouse suite is a secluded little gem with fantastic views. The restaurant is called Lanes -- so named because the terrace has a view over the intriguing back lanes of The Rocks.

Harbour Rocks made our weekend, from the moment we arrived the very attentive staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Having not been to Sydney for quite some time, they were able to help with directions and recomendations during our stay. We stayed in the amazing Penthouse, where from the loungeroom and privarate spa we had great views of the Opera House. We will deffinately be returning very soon.
