Curator's House

Curator's House Review

Here you can dine in a 1920s Tudor-style Arts and Crafts house, looking out on the Botanic Gardens and the Peacock Fountain, or take a garden table and be part of it. The menu has tapas selections and a good variety of seafood, and chef Javier adds Spanish flair with a grand paella (serves 2). Try the slow-roasted spring lamb or something a bit lighter like the West Coast whitebait. The kitchen garden supplies herbs, berries, and vegetables to the restaurant, and they have a strong environmental policy to keep things green. At this writing the hopes are that it will reopen by late 2011; check their website.
