The Chateau on the Park Review

Surrounded by 5 acres of landscaped gardens, this Kiwi take on a French château even has its own boutique vineyard. The main building, with its glass walls and heavy, dark wooden beams, has an indoor water garden that wraps around the main entrance and foyer. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed; the premier rooms have a view of the garden and the deluxe rooms overlook the surrounding area. All have either a patio or outdoor terrace, and bathrooms have a bath and shower. Gary, the hotel cat, likes to visit so let the staff know if you're allergic. There's also the country's first Linden Leaves Day Spa on site. There was only superficial earthquake damage, which should be fixed by 2012.
