The Station Cafe Review

Paintings by local artists alight the dusky pink and wood-paneled walls of this café-cum-bar where the tracks of the north-south railway are right outside the door. Coffee comes in all shades, and at lunch, the food runs from bacon and egg pie with salad to eggs benedict with salmon or bacon. In the evening beef eye fillet with salsa verde is served on a carrot and kumara mash with seasonal greens. Finish off with Chef's cheesecake; it goes down well with Baileys coffee.
