Ahu Ahu Beach Villas Review

A magical place to stay, on coastal farmland just above the beach, this property, with five rustic villas (each sleeps four), has magnificent sea views: you can catch the moon rise over the ocean horizon. The villas are made of recycled materials, including 100-year-old French clay tiles and hardwood wharf piles. There's also the spectacular "underground" villa that's built against the bank and has a grassed roof and dramatic view. Inside there are two queen-size double beds and enough space to host a small party. Wi-Fi is shared between villas. The owners can provide breakfast supplies, or you can drive five minutes to Oakura Village, which has a renowned surf beach. The villas are about a 15-minute drive south of New Plymouth.
