Quarry Craft Co-op Shop

Quarry Craft Co-op Shop Review

A cooperative of local craftspeople, including jewelers, potters, wood turners, and weavers, runs the Quarry Craft Co-op Shop. You will find unique crafts, including jewelry made from kauri gum. You may run into Sandy Rhynd, an ex-farmer who delights in explaining the venerable craft of stick dressing and showing you his wares, such as musterers' sticks (shepherds in New Zealand are called musterers, and their sticks are something like traditional shepherds' crooks) and walking sticks, many inlaid with stag horn, known as "New Zealand ivory."
