The eclectic but homey decor attracts young, old, and everyone in between. Settle in among fish tanks, lots of oak, and a few lounges for a cheap and cheerful meal. On the psychedelic blackboard menu that lights up the place like a rainbow, look for lasagna, Thai curry, or bar favorites such as nachos.

We spent several enjoyable hours in the Fat Dog while in Rotorua. The food was quite exceptional as was the service. I highly recommend this wonderfully eclectic eatery/pub. The poetry adorning the walls, and just about everything else, was fun. Anyone visiting the area should not miss a sampling of the local beers, wines and cuisine as offered at the Fat Dog.
Cheers,
Ken
