Waimea Estates Review
Since 1997, Waimea Estates has been creating award-winning wines. The range includes sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot gris, riesling, viognier, pinot noir, and a delicious blended red called "Trev's Red," after the colorful owner. The well-crafted dessert wines and a funky "strawberries-and-cream" rosé are also worth trying. Their Café in the Vineyard is open for lunch daily, with a roaring fire in winter and outdoor jazz on sunny summer Sunday afternoons. They also run Meet the Winemaker Workshops at selected times where you can do some hands-on wine appreciation and tasting. The cellar door is open in conjunction with the café.
