Point Hunter Reserve Golf Course

Point Hunter Reserve Golf Course Review

Set among the historic convict buildings and late18th-century ruins and with stunning views of the ocean, this rugged, UNESCO-listed golf course is one of the most picturesque in the world. And with greens fees of just A$70 for an entire week, it's certainly one of the cheapest. The course is nestled between the ocean and the old cemetery and runs alongside the gardens of Government House. Every tee provides a history lesson and some holes are quite challenging. Numbers 4 and 13 are the signature holes. Serious golfers usually bring their own clubs, but rentals are available. There are just 9 holes, but the course is rated an 18-hole, par 72, as you can play the layout twice. At the end of the game, the clubhouse—a graciously restored former residence of the island's stipendiary magistrate—is the place for a meal and a cold beer.
