Sunday-afternoon barbecues continue into the night with reggae, soca, and steel-band music and dancing that sizzles like the ribs on the grill. Residents and visitors gather for boisterous fun, the latest gossip, and great sunsets. Most tourist groups vanish by 7 pm, when the real partying begins. There's another, less frenetic party Thursday from 4 to 8 pm called Made in Pride in Antigua, which in addition to barbecue serves up traditional food, drink, crafts and music.
