Aruba is well wired by Caribbean standards. Almost every hotel offers some form of Internet access, ranging from lobby Internet kiosks to high-speed wireless access. SETAR, a local Wi-Fi company, offers wireless access in most of the main hotel areas (and even on the beach if you want to risk bringing your laptop). Prepaid cards must be purchased at SETAR's offices (there is an office right next to Brickell Bay Hotel in the high-rise hotel area). At a cost of only $10 for an entire 24 hours of usage, it is usually cheaper than paying for the service offered by the hotels.

Mailing a letter from Aruba to the United States or Canada costs Afl 2.05 (about $1.15), and a postcard costs Afl 1 (56¢). Expect it to take one to two weeks to arrive at its destination. A letter to Europe is Afl 2.15 ($1.20), and a postcard is Afl 1 (56¢). Sending mail to Europe takes two to four weeks, so you'll probably make it home before your letter does. Prices to Australia and New Zealand (three to four weeks) may be slightly higher. When addressing letters to Aruba, don't worry about the lack of formal addresses or postal codes; the island's postal service knows where to go.
