Elvina's Bar and Restaurant Review
A one-room bar with a small stage and dance floor, Elvina's has been a musical and social institution for 30 years. It's owned and run by local Elvina Watkins and her Baton Rouge-born husband Ed. You can't miss Tuesday and Friday open-mike nights, where you never know who will walk in the door and sing—Kid Rock, Mariah Carey, the Black Crows, or Lenny Kravitz, who lives nearby. The place is open every day of the year but doesn't really get hopping until after 9 pm.
