Nassau Botanic Gardens Review

Six hundred species of flowering trees and shrubs, a small cactus garden, and two freshwater ponds with lilies, water plants, and tropical fish cover 18 acres. The many trails that wind through the gardens are perfect for leisurely strolls. Various events are held here each year, including the International Food Festival during the third weekend in October, when the many cultural groups living on the island cook and sell their native dishes and perform traditional songs and dances. The Botanic Gardens are across the street from the Ardastra Gardens and Conservation Centre, home of Nassau's zoo. Note that although the gardens have set hours, gates sometimes still remain locked.
