Island Records founder Chris Blackwell transformed this old Harbour Island property -- on the edge of the famous rosy-hue sands -- into a luxury resort. Private, colorful one- or two-bedroom cottages, scattered across the lush, 25-acre property, include such frills as Aveda spa-bath toiletries, cordless phones, DVD players, and king-size beds with dual-controlled heaters. The main house has a hand-carved bar and imported Indian and Indonesian furniture and antiques. The richness extends to the library, which has a working fireplace and plump, comfy couches. Euro-Bahamian fare is served during lunch in the striking ocean-view Blue Bar, and in the evening there's a four-course "Chef Recommends" menu.

We stayed here for a weekend and the service was somewhere between below average and indifference. The beach was amazing and the room was above average, but the poor service really put a damper on things. You spend ~ $1000/night for a room and you would think they would help somewhat in getting you to/from the resort. I would recommend the Rock House. We only had a bite and a drink there, but you could tell the service was much better. Small island so getting to the beach is no problem
