Despite its barefoot-casual atmosphere, the menu at this charming beachside restaurant-bar is sophisticated, with grouper Caesar, conch bruschetta, seared sushi-grade tuna and sushi, coconut crème brulée, plus pizza. This place may look like a beach shack, but everything has been well planned -- they even imported an Italian chef to satisfy discriminating palates. Try to grab a table on the outdoor deck, which has a fantastic view of the beach.

We travel to Eleuthera every summer and always go to Tippy's on our first night. The food is wonderful and there is something for everyone - the choices are plentiful and the quality is, I think, as good as a lot of the restaurants we enjoy in Houston. The restaurant is right on the beach so you can eat while listening to the waves crash. Sometimes we just stop by for frozen drinks. This place is a must for our annual trip.
