This complex of historic harborside buildings -- including a 19th-century jail and a schoolhouse -- has been lavishly renovated by the architectural design team that created Gianni Versace's Miami mansion. The owner's attention to detail is evident at every turn, from the constant tweaking of floral arrangements to the moonlight-like blue lights in the private cabanas ringing the heated pool (each room has its own cabana). Guest rooms each have a different name and accessory motif, and come with luxurious items like a picnic basket for beach forays and a custom-designed extra-padded mattress. Rock House has Harbour Island's only fully outfitted gym -- one of the owners is a fitness nut. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and gourmet dinner in the front parlor and on the open porch. Try the seafood roll appetizer, a mix of lobster, crab, and tiger prawn in an Asian-style roll; don't miss the homemade ice cream for dessert.
